The question: can vineyards use less water under hot, dry conditions without giving up yield or grape quality? Grapes make an ideal model. Their physiology and form visibly register environmental stress, and thousands of years of cultivation knowledge provide a deep baseline to measure against.

Conceptual model of the study hypothesis

Hypotheses

Balance

Resilience shows up as an optimal response, read from combined optical and thermal metrics, between too little light for growth and too much under stress.

Recovery

Resilient vines recover more effectively from heat and drought and hold on to more of their growth and productivity.

Quality

Vines that show the optimal response also carry superior berry chemistry for winemaking.

Method

Demonstrated methods for establishing drought-tolerant vines suited to dry farming or limited irrigation.

ClickUp

Where agent work meets human tracking

When an agent finishes ad copy or a GA4 read, the project manager agent opens a ClickUp task, attaches the findings and assigns it to a person for review. Status changes flow back, so the next agent knows exactly what was approved and what still needs work.

Read vs. Write

The analyst agent reads Ads and GA4 data and recommends. Only the performance agent can stage changes, and only for approval.

A proprietary agentic system I engineered with Claude and sold to a North American geotechnical and foundation engineering firm. The firm's offshore analyst team adjudicated contract solicitations by hand, and lexical retrieval on "micropiles" yielded a persistently poor signal-to-noise ratio: the term surfaced in solicitations where it carried no material scope. The agent performs context-sensitive semantic disambiguation, separating substantive micropile scope from incidental or keyword-stuffed occurrences, and escalates epistemically uncertain cases to human adjudication.

Methodology

The problem: lexical retrieval treats every occurrence of "micropiles" as equally probative. In practice the term appears in keyword-stuffed landscaping solicitations, in explicit scope exclusions, and in foundation designs where micropiles are merely one alternative under consideration. Every false positive demanded a full manual read, so analyst workload scaled with noise rather than with genuine opportunity.

Decision Framework

Contextual Semantics

Provenance of the term, not its presence

A mention carries evidentiary weight only in proportion to where it occurs. Scope narratives, bid schedules and technical specifications are probative; keyword lists, citations and exclusions are not.

  • Scope and bid schedules weighted first
  • Exclusions and alternates detected
  • Keyword stuffing discounted

Evidentiary Grounding

Every determination is auditable

Each verdict is accompanied by the specific passages that support or undermine it, so reviewers can audit the reasoning without re-reading the solicitation.

  • Cited supporting passages
  • Countervailing signals surfaced
  • Calibrated confidence per verdict

Human-in-the-Loop Governance

Abstention under uncertainty

Where the record is ambiguous or the evidence thin, the agent abstains rather than guesses, routing the solicitation to an analyst who retains final authority.

  • Dedicated adjudication queue
  • Confirm or override in one action
  • Analysts retain final authority

My Role

I designed and engineered the agent with Claude and sold it to the firm, replacing a manual adjudication workflow with a context-aware qualification pipeline. The value proposition: attenuated repetitive review, more consistent and defensible qualification, and analyst capacity reallocated to the determinations that genuinely require expert judgment.
